Kelly Schmitt Gouss, Ph.D.
Kelly Schmitt Gouss, Ph.D., is a developmental psychologist who conducts comprehensive research with youth, parents, and teachers. She has a particular expertise in understanding how youth grasp, consume, and are impacted by media and technology inside and outside of the classroom.
In her current work as President of KLMedia Research, Dr. Schmitt is involved in research on an array of educational media for children, including TV, websites, classroom magazines, and electronic book devices. In this capacity, Dr. Schmitt has applied her research expertise in formative evaluations of Scholastic News Interactive, and also assessed the educational efficacy of PBS Kids Island for preschool children. She previously directed research at Sesame Workshop, Insight Research Group, Scholastic and the Michael Cohen Group.
Dr. Schmitt’s work has been received by popular and scholarly audiences alike, and she continues to enjoy teaching related psychology courses at the college and graduate levels..
Kelly currently lives in Chicago with her husband and 5-year-old son.
